Meet the Band

Electric Vinyl brings the timeless energy of classic rock and pop hits to life with a fresh, high-voltage sound. We’re a party band built for good times, big singalongs, and packed dance floors — keeping the spirit of rock ‘n’ roll alive one show at a time.

Jay Wright - Lead Guitar/Vocals
Jay picked up the guitar at age 8 and quickly developed a passion for playing in bands and writing music as a teenager. He has performed both professionally and for fun ever since, sharing the stage with Grammy Award-winning artists and international pop stars. Now, he’s thrilled to bring his talent and energy to Electric Vinyl in the “Biggest Little City.”

Mindy Lilyquist - Lead Vocals
Mindy has spent over 25 years singing lead vocals in party bands across the United States. She’s spent time in the studio producing vocals and performing on both commercial and private projects. In her 20s, you could find her rocking stages around the world—from cruise ships to theme parks. Now, she’s thrilled to bring her energy and experience to Electric Vinyl and rock the Reno scene.

Wayne Lund - Keys/Vocals
Wayne began playing keyboards at age 5 and joined his first rock band, Dynamic Distraction, in high school, even competing in the National Battle of the Bands in Atlantic City, NJ. Over the years, he’s played keys AND trombone in a variety of bands. Wayne also performs with Battle Born Brass and the Reno Wind Symphony, bringing his versatile musicianship to every stage.

Mick Rhodes - Bass/Vocals
Mick picked up the upright bass at 15 and discovered a love for rock ‘n’ roll a year later, playing in several local bands. He earned the “Outstanding Soloist” award at UNR for double bass and has written and produced three albums between 2000 and 2012. Now a retired firefighter, Mick brings his musical talent and experience to Electric Vinyl, keeping the groove alive on every stage.

Julia Meservy - Vocals/Guitar
Julia grew up immersed in music, born into a family of classic western folk singers, where she began performing from an early age. Over the past 20 years, she has developed her craft both as a vocalist and instrumentalist, collaborating with a variety of musicians across genres. Julia brings her rhythm guitar and powerful vocals to Electric Vinyl.

Layne Dameron - Drums/Vocals
At 11, he signed up to play “Wipeout” in the school talent show before he even owned a drum set. Three weeks, one borrowed drum kit, and a neon-spandex performance later, he was hooked for life. From rock and jazz, to musicals and the house drummer for an old western show, he’s done it all. Now, he’s keeping the beat for Electric Vinyl — and if anyone can bring back spandex and neon lights, it’s Layne.
